Lynn’s Bowel Cancer Campaign
Media Ambitions is employed by Lynn’s Bowel Cancer Campaign to carry out PR on a project by project basis to promote a variety of initiatives. The charity was founded by the well known consumer Journalist Lynn Faulds Wood.
In 2006 Lynn’s Bowel Cancer Campaign launched a brand new initiative “Bowel Cancer Faster Diagnosis Week”. From 19th to 26th June an awareness and fund raising scheme took place with the sole aim of cutting down the length of time it takes for patients with bowel cancer to be diagnosed and therefore save thousands of lives.
In November 2006 Media Ambitions embarked on another campaign to encourage people to understand and spot the symptoms of bowel cancer and launched “Dress Spotty Day”.
Lynn Faulds Wood says “Media Ambitions did a fantastic job at short notice organising a Faster Diagnosis Week in June 2006 for Lynn's Bowel Cancer Campaign. They also organised an awareness campaign for the charity's first Dress Spotty Day in November 2006 and media for our cutest spotty dog competition. Entries were received from all over the UK, as a result of a local newspaper campaign, and the winning dog was 2 year old Dalmatian Jack from Bristol - who is so cute he will spearhead the charity's 2007 campaign. Many thanks to the team at Media Ambitions for your ideas, support, ingenuity and thorough professionalism!”
“Strut Your Strip” was a campaign which took place in Autumn 2004 to raise awareness for the importance of recognizing and facing up to the symptoms of Bowel Cancer, in particular among the male members of the population. Strut Your Strip, supported by ITV’s Britain on the Move, encouraged men to get fit by walking miles around the hallowed turf of their favourite UK football ground. Media Ambitions was responsible for assisting Lynn with the PR for the launch of the campaign which was attended by the MP Tessa Jowell at a packed press conference in London.
