Mouth Cancer Voice Awards

The first annual MOUTH CANCER VOICE AWARDS raised awareness of the risk factors (smoking, drinking and bad diet) as well as the symptoms of mouth cancer amongst university students and young people by making them not take their voice for granted, which can be lost through mouth cancer. The MOUTH CANCER VOICE AWARDS 2007 took place during Mouth Cancer Awareness Week on Sunday 18th November 2007.

The MOUTH CANCER VOICE AWARDS 2007 sourced the most talented, bright young stars for the newest unique talent.

The event launched on Monday 1st October 2007 and culminated in a afternoon extravaganza at the Jerwood Van Brugh Theatre in London. The event brought together a heady mix of aspiring young talent and some of the country's leading musicians and comedians.

Hundreds of students from all across the UK sent in demo tapes which were turned into video clips and voted for, by the general public, on the MOUTH CANCER VOICE AWARDS 2007 website, www.mouthcancervoice.org. Voting closed at midnight on Wednesday 14th November 2007 an twelve acts were short listed to attend the grand final where they performed live in front of a panel of judges. Two lucky winners won the prize of a lifetime.

The MOUTH CANCER VOICE AWARDS 2007 will receive maximum publicity, leading up to, on the evening and after the event from print, broadcast and new media sources to help raise awareness for Mouth Cancer.

There is already a wealth of support from the medical, dentistry and educational professions and the MOUTH CANCER VOICE AWARDS look set to become an annual tradition. Media Ambitions is responsible for producing the event.
